Recent changes in Google SERPs!

Don’t know if you have noticed, there have been some noteworthy changes to the overall layout of Google SERPs lately. Earlier, if you searched for a keyword on Google, the result pages would display a total of 11 paid ads apart from the 10 organic results on the SERP. While most of these paid ads were listed on the right side of the SERP, the top 3 were placed on top of the organic list.

Now it seems that the layout has been changed by Google, and the Search Engine Result Page shows 4 paid ads on top above the 10 organic search results. The paid ads that used to be on the right side have been removed and 3 to 4 paid ads are now adjusted below the organic results.
So effectively, the total number of paid ads on Google SERPs have come down from 11 to 7/8 as of now. This means that there is definitely going to be more competition for grabbing the Paid Ads slot in the coming days. And the affordable rates offered by Google for grabbing the top slots through Google Ad words are going to be history very soon.
